EurAsia Forum
Introduction
- International Organization Status: EurAsia Forum is an internationally registered non-governmental and non-profit organization in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, focused on promoting business development and fostering public-private partnerships for the global public interest.
- UN Participation: EurAsia Forum regularly participates in United Nations Council meetings held in Geneva to discuss international issues and provide insights on relevant UN policies.
- Diverse Membership: Its founding members, board of directors, and leadership team consist of distinguished individuals from various nationalities and industries, ensuring comprehensive support for a wide range of businesses.
History
- Founding and Renaming: EurAsia Forum was originally founded by Ms. Irene Zhu in 2015 under the name “Connecting China Media Association (CCMA).” In 2019, it was renamed EurAsia Forum to broaden its vision, focusing on business development and promoting international public-private partnerships.
- Establishment and Registration: The forum was established in mid-April 2015 in Winterthur, canton of Zurich, and was officially registered by Swiss authorities in April 2019.
- Certification: In February 2023, EurAsia Forum received certification from the State Council and the Chinese Embassy, further legitimizing its status and operations.
Our Leadership
- Board Guidance: The forum is guided by a board of directors composed of distinguished individuals from business, politics, academia, and civil society, who act as guardians of the mission and values and oversee efforts to promote genuine global citizenship.
- Impartial Representatives: Board members do not represent any personal or professional interests in their work, ensuring impartiality and objectivity in decision-making.
- Diverse Composition: To reflect its multi-stakeholder status, the board members are evenly distributed between business representatives and leaders from international organizations and civil society, ensuring diverse perspectives and balanced representation.
Management Committee
- Collective Executive Responsibility: The Management Committee holds collective executive responsibility for EurAsia Forum and reports to the board of directors.
- Mission Fulfillment Oversight: The board ensures that the forum’s activities align with its mission and acts as its external representative.
- Diverse Leadership and Team: The leadership and staff of EurAsia Forum consist of distinguished individuals from various nationalities and industries.
Executive Committee
- Executive Committee Leadership: The forum’s activities are managed by its Executive Committee, led by founder and Executive Chairperson Irene ZHU, supported by the forum’s Secretary-General Robert J. Mojzes, who is also responsible for public relations and media relations.
- Daily Operations Responsibility: The Executive Committee is responsible for the daily operations of the association.
- Election Mechanism: Apart from the first Executive Committee, which was elected by the founding members, the Executive Committee is elected annually by qualified members at the annual general meeting.
